Torbay councillor Alan Faulkner has admitted today that he ‘fears the worst’ in regards to the proposed radical changes to care for the elderly in Torbay.

Torbay Care Trust are due to meet today to discuss the proposed closure of two popular daycare centres in Torbay.

St Edmunds Day Centre in Plainmoor is under threat, and there are also plans to move the Fernham day centre in Paignton to a new location.

51 members of staff could face redundancy if they cannot be re-deployed within the trust.

A Torbay teenager has been reported missing.

Police are appealing for information as they seek to trace 14 year old Connor Grayson who has not been seen since Monday evening.

He was last seen by his family in the Chelston area at around 6.30pm.

Anyone with any information should contact police on 08452 777444, quoting log 1168 of September 13.

A Torquay man who has pleaded guilty to 30 charges of making indecent images of children has been told he faces jail.

John Mcaravey was told in Exeter Crown Court that his ‘unspeakable actions ‘ were likely to land him behind bars.

He was released on bail to report to Torquay police station at Exeter Crown Court.

Torquay residents fear they will be facing a death trap as the Torbay bins row rages on.

Residends living in Upton Hill have no kerb leading down to a busy road, making it dangerous for people to leave rubbish outside their homes.

They are among thousands that are still lodging complaints over the Bay’s 'rubbish revolution.'

And of course, the celebrations for Agatha Christie’s 120th birthday anniversary are set to go off with a BANG tonight with a fabulous fireworks display on Corbyn Head beach.

The display is due to start at 8.30pm.

Onto sport now, and in cycling thousands lined up to see the conclusion of the fourth stage of the Tour of Britain in Teignmouth yesterday.

In what was the biggest crowd at a stage finish so far on the 2010 tour, it was Dutch sprinter Woet Pouls who came out on top, with Devon pair Jeremy Hunt and John Locke finishing at the back of the field after being caught in a logjam early on in the race.

Elsewhere in Sport, Torquay United made it three wins out of three in the Totesport Combination league against Forest Green Rovers yesterday.

Goals from Eunan O’Kane and Saul Halpin sent the Gulls on their way to a 2-0 victory.
